Reception's Dinosaur and Doubles

Last week, Reception finished their fortnight on Dinosaurs. They learnt about Mary Anning, the pioneering paleontologist and fossil collector. They compared Mary's everyday life to their own, noiticing similarities and differences between the past and present.

In Maths, children consolidated their understanding of doubles. They are learning to prove their answers in different ways, with Numicon, dominoes, drawings, playing cards and other imaginative ideas. 

In PE, Reception are working on their Spring theme: 'challenging ourselves'. Playing a game of dragon and shadow, they practised defending and attacking.
