Year 1 Where in the World?

This week Year 1 have extended their knowledge of the World through learning about animals and landmarks of Australia. Children made comparisons between UK animals and those found in Australia alongside learning about famous landmarks and asking further questions.

Children created their own silhouette of Uluru at sunset and boomerangs using Aboriginal patterns on the Creative Table.

Using Google Earth, children were able to search and locate landmarks here in Hexham, London and in Australia. 

Linked to their work in Science, children also recorded and compared the weather in Hexham UK and Hexham Australia.
