Year 3 STEM Visitor - DRONES

In Year Three, we had the exciting opportunity to welcome Jason Magee to our school to share his expertise on drones. He brought a variety of fascinating models, from quadcopters to hexacopters, and our enthusiasm was palpable as we gathered to see these impressive machines up close!

During his engaging presentation, Jason discussed the many practical applications of drones, highlighting their roles in agriculture, search and rescue missions, and even their use by police forces.

He also explained the mechanics behind how drones operate, including the intriguing fact that some propellers rotate in opposite directions to prevent the drone from spinning. This provided us with a fantastic glimpse into Newton's Third Law of Motion! It was a captivating session that sparked our interest in technology and engineering.
