Year One in the Art Studio

What a great way to kick off the week for Year One as we had our day in the Art Studio on Monday.

Children took part in three activities over the course of their time in the studio learning lots of new skills in a brilliantly immersive environment.

Using graded sketching pencils to shade, children drew an impressive castle, dolls house and a brick stone wall Art instillation from observation. 

Using oil pastels, children created an amazing silhouette of Grace Darling's lighthouse with an evening background. The photos don't quite do the work justice!

Finally, children retold the story of Katje the Windmill Cat by making shadow puppets and performing with them in front of a spotlight!
