Eco-Warriors

Sele First Eco Warriors have the opportunity to take leadership on the environmental issues they feel are significant to them and their generation. Our children express great enthusiasm and care for the world around them and the Eco Warriors' agenda is led by their interests.

Thanks to the efforts of our Eco Warriors in 2022, the school was awarded The Eco-Schools Green Flag Award. They were commended for their work beyond the school gates, working alongside the Hexham Net Zero Organisation at their annual fair and attending an Environmental Conference at Queen Elizabeth High School.

In 2023-24, the new Eco Warriors are looking forward to working with Dr Wendy Fail, Senior Waste Management Officer at Northumberland County Council, on composting, designs for local bin lorries and entry into the Love Northumberland awards.
