Disabled Access

The school building dates back to 1856.  A considerable number of adaptations have ensured access meets DDA requirements.

The school site is fully accessible. Ramped access and an automated door ensure good access to school via the main entrance. We have three accessible toilets, for both children and adults, situated in different parts of the site and a disabled parking bay.

Staff have specialised training to meet a range of medical needs. Please see our SEND Report for further information.

All written communication is available in large text upon request.

When offsite venues are chosen for school visits, for example residential visits, we use Robinwood Residential Centre in Alston who specialise in meeting the needs KS2 children of all abilities.

Any refurbishment that takes place in school considers accessibility and equality.
