A busy few weeks for PE!

Over the last two weeks in school, Sele has been out and about twice to take part in School Games events.

First up was the annual Gymnastics competition.  This year, we took 13 of our Year Four children who had been attending Early Birds Gymnastics to the Tynedale area competition at Haltwhistle Leisure Centre. The children rotated around activities including the use of an inflatable tumble track, which was a big hit.

For the competition this year, the children had to learn two routines including one with apparatus. This was a big challenge but all of the girls left the event with either a bronze, silver or a gold certificate for their efforts. It was also good to mingle with other children from local schools who all shared a love of gymnastics!

On Friday 19th April, we took 15 children to Hexham Middle School for a morning of multi-skills activities led by the School Games and the Sports Leaders of HMS. Our children took part in the games with great determination and showed excellent teamwork and spirit throughout the morning. Our children were joined by children from other local schools in the Tynedale area, which meant it was nice for them to mingle with potential new peers in their new school setting!
